SUPERVISOR OF MAINTENANCE 1st Shift

Follow your aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities, competitive salaries, great benefits, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, a company paid pension plan and profit sharing, all with a company providing the growth and strength to build your future.Responsible for managing the preventative maintenance program, production support, shutdown activities and all major maintenance by overseeing maintenance resources to assure the production plan is met or exceeded while maintaining responsible areas of the facility in an acceptable state of functionality and appearance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Supervises resources for preventative maintenance, calibration and maintenance work order completion. Assists technicians in troubleshooting and problem analysis.Coordinates contactor activities on-site for maintenance or projects. Obtains quotes, bids and orders parts and materials for maintenance projects. Coordinates shutdown activities with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Division, and external vendors/contractors to ensure timely and thorough completion of shutdown projects.Assures compliance to all procedures and policies concerning all areas of quality, regulatory, safety and human r source for all reporting departments.Coaches, develops, and mentors employees in areas of responsibility. Responsible for recruitment, selection, development and retention of employees. Conducts performance reviews; develops growth plans; interprets, implements and supports employee-related policies, procedures and programs. Assigns projects/tasks to direct staff.Assists in the development of departmental budgets and standards. Has input into all changes including updates, cost improvements and plans. Makes recommendations on capital investments.Qualifications
Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for nutritional industry.
Five years maintenance experience with mechanical aptitude/abilities and a working knowledge of mechanical, machine, electrical or instrumentation trades required. Three year supervisory experience required. Must posses proficiency in technical filed, excellent written and verbal communication, and planning/organization skills and attention to detail; excellent analytical troubleshooting skills. The ability to make sound decisions under pressure, give direction, prioritize and delegate tasks are required. Excellent customer service skills are required.Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent
