SANITATION EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

SANITATION EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (Full-Time) Public Works Department Salary $23,426 Isle of Wight County is seeking an individual do drive a trash truck on an assigned route, travels to dumpsters, empties trash in dumpsters and cleans surrounding area. Disposes of refuse and trash according to procedures. Maintains and cleans assigned refuse truck. Checks truck to ensure its proper working condition. Replenishes necessary fluids. Applicants must provide a copy of their current DMV driving record with their application. CDL required. Minimum Training and Experience: Completion of eighth grade AND at least one year of experience operating a tandem axle roll-on/roll-off refuse truck. Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a trash truck; and to stoop, lift, and bend in order to empty dumpster and dispose of trash. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, push, pull, and otherwise move objects.
