Recovery Specialist I

SHIFT: (MON-FRI: 8am-5pm with ROTATIONAL HOURS AS NEEDED)Provide first level technical support during problem determination and resolution.
Interfaces directly with customer to provide operational support during testing or a disaster.
Review test plan documents and set up required system resources prior to start of subscriber's test.
Conduct pre-testing and Managed Testing activities as required.
Review subscriber's prior test history to anticipate issues and prevent recurrence of previous problems.
Create and maintain written status reports during subscriber testing activities.
Assist with equipment installation, testing, and implementation.
Participate in subscriber conference calls and workshops.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Moderate travel required.
REQUIREMENTS
BS degree or equivalent work experience required.
College Degree; H.S. Diploma/GED and/or equivalent work experience required.
Min 2-year operational experience in a computing environment using Microsoft operating systems (2000, 2003, XP, etc.), Intel based servers, PC LAN technologies, and Networking is a MUST. Active Directory experience is a PLUS.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP.
Experience in at least one of the following platforms in addition to the requirement above is preferred: SUN, HP, RS/6000, AS400, and Mainframe.
Min 2-year experience in a role involving direct customer contact (internal and external customers).
Experience working in a Managed Services and Hosting environment a PLUS
Telecom and PBX skills preferred.
Knowledge of backup-restore methodologies, large scale hardware configurations, or experience working with multiple midrange platforms is a PLUS.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds as needed for test set up.
Previous experience in Disaster Recovery experience a PLUS.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to work shift weekend and/or rotational work as needed.
Must be self-motivated, team player, and able to immediately contribute to a fast paced, deadline intensive environment.
