Plumbing Fire Protection Engineer

Plumbing Fire Protection Engineer or Senior Designer Plumbing Fire Protection Engineer requires a person with 10 to 20 years experience in the design and document production of plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of commercial and government projects. This position will require a self-starting person with initiative and superior organizational skills. Primary duties will include design, drawing production, and specification writing. Duties will also include code reviews, peer reviews, review of construction site installations, shop drawing submittal reviews, building evaluations, writing reports, and other plumbing fire protection related duties. The work will include the design of base building and tenant interior systems on commercial, retail, government, and other types of projects. Project experience in highrise office buildings, mixed-use and residential projects is required. Good CAD skills and AutoCad Building Systems software experience are required. Good written and verbal communication skills are required. Working knowledge of building codes, plumbing codes, and fire protections codes is important. Experience working as a team player within a project team as the lead plumbing fire protection engineer is necessary. Experience in working with engineers, developers, architects, contractors, and code officials is required. Working relationships with local plumbing code officials and fire marshals would be a plus. ASPE CPD Certified in Plumbing Design credential would be a plus. Engineering degree would be a plus. EIT, LEED Accreditation, or professional engineering license would be a plus.
