Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager directs all maintenance planning, scheduling, & engineering aspects related to manufacturing. This position also evaluates all maintenance manpower needs and staff accordingly as well as draft maintenance forecasts & budgets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Insure all maintenance work on production equipment is performed in a timely and efficient manner.
Continue to refine and expand the preventive & predictive maintenance systems to maximize production time and minimize down time.
Direct staff to work with production supervisors, manufacturing engineers & production planners.
Direct the purchase & installation of new or existing equipment.
Maintain a skilled maintenance staff by providing training and direction as needed.
Provide disciple & counseling.
Promote & demonstrate excellent teamwork, communications & interpersonal skills.
Ensures a safe working environment and make sure housekeeping issues are addressed.
Direct staff to look for ways to improve a process through modifying existing equipment and or working with production to replace existing equipment.
Directing the activity of maintenance budgeting for production planning.
Manage, forecast & build maintenance budget including manpower staffing.

Blueprint knowledge
Proficient knowledge of PC software including Windows 98 and software applications - i.e. Word and Excel.
Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Knowledge of budgeting
Knowledge of the labor agreement
Knowledge of manufacturing techniques
General knowledge of failure analysis
Interpersonal skills necessary to deal with others effectively
Leadership, interpersonal and motivation skills.

Working knowledge of a CMMS program
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience Requirements
B.S. Degree preferred but not required
Supervisor experienced in a manufacturing facility required
Preferred experience in Six Sigma, Lean, TPM, CIP & 5S
At least 5 years experience in a maintenance work environment
Self-directed, initiative, take charge leadership.
