Maintenance Manager

Schedule repair, maintenance, & installation of machines, tools, and equpment. Review new product plans & discuss equpment needs & modifications with design engineers. Requisition tools, equipment, & supplies. Direct fabricating or modifying machines, tools & equipment. Direct maintenance activities on utility systems (heat, steam, electric power, gas or air). Develop preventive maintenance program. Review production, QC, maintenance reports & statistics.

Prepare dept. budget & monitor expenditures. Assist plant manager in developing annual capital plan. Direct plant spare parts inventory to maintain sufficient spares to maintain operations while controlling costs. Direct training of employees. Confer with workers' representatives to resolve grievances. Comply with all environmental, health, safety & housekeeping programs.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree, preferably Mechanical or Electrical

5+ years experience managing a maintenance dept., preferably in a union environment, in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting.

Excellent mechanical aptitude & problem solving skills. Root cause analysis skills a must. Ability to manage multiple & dynamic priorities. Must be able to lead continual process improvement towards creation of a World Class maintenance Organization. Must have project management experience; will oversee & provide guidance to capital project management. A Project Engineer will report to this position, as well as Maintenance Engineers. Experience with Lean Manufacturing rules, principles & tools is strongly desirable.
