Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Transit Facility (TF) Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing third-party logistics providers (3PLs) in planning, organizating, and executing tactical operations in a Transit facility (Cross Dock DC). The TF Manager must act as the liaison between the contracted 3PLs and The Home Depot. As the liaison, the TF Manager must be able to identify issues/opportunities and scope out, develop and execute solutions.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage 3PL relationships to best leverage strengths and add most value
Prioritize issues and work with stores and 3PLs to develop and execute solutions to positively impact service, safety, efficiency, productivity, and profitability
Coordinate and prepare quarterly operational plans with 3PLs to include:
Projected truckload and carton volumes
3PL staffing plans
Work with Finance to develop annual financial plans and associated budgets
Lead monthly 3PL performance reviews covering:
Metrics
Short term planning
Opportunities and Next Steps
Define and continually refine 3PL service standards and operational mission requirements of the TF

Reports directly to the Director of Logistics
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that cause noticeable discomport or a moderate risk os accident or illness. Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas. Must frequently deal woth unpleasant issues related to people or situations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age
Must pass the Drug Test
Must pass the Background Check
Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
EDUCATION REQUIRED - 8
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 5
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree is preferred.
