Filter Technician

Along with this growth comes a new opportunity for an individual to begin their career with us as a resin Filter Technician at our City of Commerce resin manufacturing facility. Our facility is located just west of the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Slauson Avenue.

As a resin Filter Technician, you will be responsible for the filtration of our liquid alkyd and latex based resins into bulk storage tanks, drums, and tank wagons. You will be responsible for all aspects of the material handling of our resins including, staging raw materials, loading raw materials into vessels, set up and operation of our filtration and drum filing equipment. You will also be responsible for setting valves to direct our product through a network of product piping to the desired destinations.

Employees work in a 3-shift, 24 hour/5 days a week operation, Monday through Friday with the need for occasional overtime. New employees receive their training on the shift for which they are hired. Training occurs on the job and by way of computer interactive modules. Job designation will progress through structured step increments until all the aspects of the job have been completed. Once all training is completed, the Filter Technician becomes fully qualified for the position and may begin training on additional positions in the facility as they become available.

Starting wages are set at $14.85 per hour during a 90-day probationary period and increase after that. Rate increases are then dependent on successfully completing training at specified time increments. Employees can earn upwards of $17.45 in eighteen months and more beyond that based on performance based increases. REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent with post high school education a plus. Additionally, you should have 2-4 years industrial manufacturing experience preferably in a chemical batch industry; paint and coatings industry experience a plus. You should have a good track record of work safety, strong self-initiative, solid attendance performance, and ability to work in a team-based environment and have good attention to detail.
