Facility General Manager

The individual in this position supervises and coordinates the activities of the employees engaged in the facility operations of a freight motor transportation company by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors at our Salt Lake City facility. This position works closely with and reports directly to the Regional General Manager.

Responsibilities include:
1. Responsible for the daily and long term success of a statewide courier and delivery company.
2. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
3. Determine appropriate resolution of employee/customer relation issues.
4. Prepare multiple business transaction/efficiency-related reports.
5. Recruit, interview, screen and select employees to fill vacant positions.
6. Produce monthly forecast relative to established budget.
7. Maintain current customer base by carefully monitoring current accounts.
8. Prepare monthly financial reports to upper management.

The ideal candidate should have some knowledge and experience with the delivery business including branch routes and customer base in and around the Salt Lake City area. Problem solving and effective management resolution is a must. Knowledge of Utah labor laws a plus.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have prior managerial experince in the transportation and delivery industry. Preferably at least 5 years with at least 2 years in a progressive supervisory function. Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Must be able to forecast P&L statements and develop budgets. Ideal candidate will be able to motivate and manage an operations facility and the corresponding personnel. Must be able to prioritize issues and multitask.
