Facilities and Manufacturing Engineer
Position Summary:
Contribute to company success and employee morale through improvements to facility/grounds and production processes, as well as supervision of Wisconsin maintenance/custodial functions. Success measured through generation and implementation of projects that meet budget, time and manufacturing/facility goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, establish budget and implement facilities planning and space allocation/utilization programs for new products, personnel additions, and company growth. Coordinate construction, remodeling, and repair projects, and inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
Supervise Wisconsin custodial and maintenance staff and their functions to assure workplace is kept in order and clean, and equipment is maintained properly. Work with Wisconsin IT to maintain and upgrade Wisconsin IT systems. Work with respective landlord /condominium association regarding provided services and outdoor maintenance functions.
Manages security standards to ensure constant protection of staff, facilities, and equipment from fire, theft, sabotage, etc. Responsible for some safety training of other BioForm employees.
Design and direct implementation of improved manufacturing equipment/processes for new and continuing products. Includes responsibility for project budgeting, interfacing with vendors of equipment and tooling, and maintaining appropriate documentation for new equipment, including qualification, verification, and validation.
Develop, implement, and maintain necessary SOP’s related to job responsibilities/functions; establish processing and test specifications for products and equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment and process problems in support of production goals.
Education and/or Experience (years):
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree. Extensive hands-on experience with building expansion, project planning, and facilities management would be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum 7 years facilities experience in a manufacturing type environment; with solid understanding of cleanroom design and its maintenance desirable.
Strong preference for background in a medical device, ISO or other quality system environment. Maintenance/construction management experience is a strong plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires a high degree of creativity and problem-solving skills; strong computer skills, including spreadsheet, data base and Auto CAD applications; mechanical aptitude and design ability and facilities/maintenance and clean room understanding.
