Facilities Technician, Operations (1230)

The individual in this position will be responsible for appropriate handling and storage of evidence and case-related material in a warehouse facility. Duties will include receiving, storing, retrieving and disposing of items as needed and in accordance with Exponent’s Quality Management System (QMS). The individual in this position will maintain accurate database records for all storage items and locations and data entry of monthly storage charges. They will also interact with various levels of engineers, scientists and professional services staff and when needed, provide guidance with respect to the firm's QMS Evidence Policy. Additional duties also include providing support to the mail services to include: receiving, handling, storing and disposing of general non-case related storage items; packing and shipping parcel packages in a timely and cost effective manner; pickup and delivery of mail and parcels within the building, and maintaining neat and accurate logs for tracking purposes. The individual in this position will also assist with preventative maintenance programs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, furniture, and building security. General clerical work including light data entry. Some outside courier deliveries required. Special projects as assigned by the manager.
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a high school diploma with a minimum of three years experience in inventory/material handling. Knowledge of UPS, Federal Express and other freight express and courier companies procedures. Experience with receiving, handling and shipping hazardous materials is a plus. Computer skills and database experience a must. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills necessary. Must be a team player, as well as detailed and customer service oriented. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, operate a forklift and possess/maintain a valid Arizona’s driver’s license. Work in conditioned and unconditioned environments. Prior facilities maintenance experience a plus.
