Facilities Technician I


Description:
The successful candidate will provide basic maintenance such as changing light bulbs. Move office furniture, change ceiling tiles and light bulbs, clearing clogged plumbing, etc. Serve as daily Front Desk relief from 7:30 am to 8:00 am, for Receptionist breaks, and as assigned. Notify Facility Manager of problems with the buildings. Interface with Property Managers (REIT) as directed by Facility Manager. Order and Stock toner and ink cartridges for equipment. Make sure copiers and printers receive proper maintenance. Report meter reads for the leased copy machines. Stock copy paper on all floors. Order and distribute office supplies through Corporate Express and Office Depot. Order and stock kitchen supplies. Pickup then delivers supplies locally. Send offsite employees office and/or kitchen supplies. Provide escort to vendors and others as assigned. Serve as Direct Contact for Janitorial Issues. Ensure buildings are maintained by contract janitorial services. Order janitorial supplies. Run errands outside the office to pickup/deliver supplies, etc.

Qualifications:
This position typically requires 0-2 years experience in facilities support, general maintenance, or a related field, and a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Qualified applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and his/her own transportation. Applicant must be eligible to obtain a US Government Personnel Security Clearance.

Skills and Abilities:
Qualified applicants must be proficient in MS Word and Excel; and possess effective communication skills, and an ability to perform general maintenance tasks. Must possess knowledge of relevant tools and equipment. Work may require the use of power tools and exposure to hazardous materials, which requires proper safety precautions; work requires moderate physical effort in the handling and moving of office furniture, materials, boxes and/or equipment.
