500 companies worldwideInterest Category: Logistics/SupplyJob Description: Applicant may be requested to start in August 2006, in anticipation of Phase-In and contract start in October 2006.Perform functions to assist in the planning, managing, controlling, directing and coordinating the overall activities of other personnel to refine industrial work processes.Ensure environmental compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations, programs or contractual requirements as related to the business of the unit or section, working within the limits of established policy, procedures and implementing instructions.Conduct process control analysis of various elements, consulting with peer groups involving other managers, engineering, work management, skilled craftsmen, logistics and other personnel who exercise full responsibility for all technical, budgetary, administrative program elements.The following program elements are typical of what supports the Operations and Maintenance daily functions (e.g., Computerized Maintenance Management System, Facility Condition Assessment, Backlog Maintenance and Repair, Long Range Fully Integrated Maintenance Planning, Work Surveillance, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Outage Coordination, Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity end-to-end process tasks, Logistics, Transportation, Configuration Control Management, Programmed Maintenance, etc.) to ensure that they met customer and user requirements and expectations in cost, quality, and schedule requirements.Provide leadership and professional development assistance to, self-initiate work assignments for, review and approval and to perform personnel management functions in concert with peer group consisting of other managers, engineering, work management, and other personnel. Train and instruct directly or through subordinates, support personnel.Organize and direct work, communicate performance standards and safety regulations, monitor activities, evaluate performance and recommend the need for changes in status. Interpret company policy. Coach and counsel employees about the advantages of process improvements and emphasis the importance of their involvement in the process. Maintain harmonious employee/employer relations.Ensure self-initiated work is undertaken with the appropriate personnel involved and that the work is properly prioritized to maximize technical quality and productivity.May monitor site activation including budget production and project administration. Duties encompass producing long range plans, capital equipment budgets, and facility cost projections and completion administration.May review, validate and authorize Facility Work Requests (FWR's). REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements: The Facilities Maintenance Manager position is contingent upon award of a Logistics contract located at Ft. Lee, Virginia.Requires personnel management skills to organize, lead, and motivate a peer group/team of managers, engineering, work management personnel, skilled craftsmen, as well as others.Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering in an engineering discipline such as mechanical, electrical, electronics, civil, structural, industrial or chemical engineering plus ten-(10) years or progressive experience at the engineering level.Equivalent education/experience is applicable.
The capability to communicate technical, and related budgetary and planning information, both verbally and in writing; as well as effectively interface and negotiate with Union Representatives. Maintain cognizance of developments in the assigned field of expertise.Also requires thorough knowledge of general business principles, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and other related Federal, State and local statutes.
