Facilities / Maintenance Manager

Pacific Sunwear, also known as PacSun, is a rapidly growing and extremely successful specialty retailer of casual apparel, footwear and accessories designed to meet the lifestyle needs of active teens and young adults. Our corporate office is located in Anaheim and is equipped with a cafe, workout room with showers, basketball and volleyball court.Reports to: Director of OperationsPOSITION PURPOSE: The Distribution Center Facilities/Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the company’s equipment, building, and grounds in a manner that minimizes interruptions in D.C. operations and assures employee safety. The Maintenance Manager develops programs to extend equipment life and reliability and to assure safe operations at every level. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for supervising the entire Maintenance Department staff.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all equipment and facilities that will minimize disruptions in D.C. Operations and ensure the maximum useful life of the equipment.Monitor all materials handling equipment maintenance activities, making sure that all equipment is serviced as required.Provide maintenance to all D.C. vehicles, buildings, D.C. grounds, and general maintenance service as needed. Maintain Lockout/Tagout procedures and appropriate MSDS documentation.Manage and supervise the activities, training, performance and development of the maintenance mechanic crew. Ensure they are adequately equipped and capable of the work assigned.Tour the Distribution Center area on a regular basis to assure buildings and equipment are safe and ready to operate.Promote equipment safety, develop programs to respond to unexpected or emergency situations. Work with our Human Resources and Loss Prevention departments to develop safety awareness and emergency preparedness programs.Develop and implement a reporting system for tracking building and equipment repair and monitoring the preventive maintenance program.Purchase parts, supplies as necessary to perform required maintenance. Maintain a cost effective parts replacement program and inventory.In addition to the performance of the job responsibilities, mentioned above, this position may be required to perform supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based on the particular requirements of the operation.
REQUIREMENTS
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities: Excellent knowledge of automated material handling systems.
Excellent knowledge of conveyors and scanners
Certified electrician
PLC expert
Good working knowledge of Excel and WordPhysical Demands Or Requirements:
50% of time sitting for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard; reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist, and kneeling or crouching to retrieve files from cabinets and shelves; hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to read and assure accuracy of financial and records and reports; lifting light objects.50% of the time the physical work may be dirty and greasy. Work may be inside or
outside. Mechanic work requires the ability to stand, stoop, lean, lift and squat.
They should have normal or corrected vision and hearing and must have full
use of both hands. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and good physical
condition are also necessary.Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
7-10 years of plant maintenance or project management experience
3+ years on automation and/or conveyor equipment
