Engineer

We are seeking an Engineer to join the Project Management and Budgeting staff at our Newark, Delaware location. As a member of this team, you will provide engineering services requiring the ability to perform and interpret engineering and/or economic data analyses for engineering projects and the overall Utility Operations construction budget. You will understand the defined scope, schedule and budget for projects and work to meet scheduled due dates, identifying emerging issues and recommending solutions for problems. While working independently on routine assignments and/or under guidance for special projects, you will effectively incorporate engineering and economic theories, standards, concepts and techniques, as well as engineering/industry/government codes and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates with a Bachelors degree in Engineering coupled with 6-10 years of progressive, relevant engineer experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
•working independently on routine projects and/or under guidance on special projects, effectively incorporating engineering theories, standards, concepts, and techniques as well as engineering/industry/government codes and regulations;
•reading and interpreting construction plans, engineering drawings, etc.;
•performing and interpreting engineering analyses and/or economic data analyses for engineering projects;
•developing creative solutions to problems of above-average complexity;
•managing multiple engineering projects/assignments and ensuring work conforms to project/task requirements,
•coordinating across different areas, departments contractors and/or work groups for budgeting and cost control;
•identifying the need for new projects/initiatives and recommending a solution;
•mentoring engineers and others in a variety of engineering projects/activities;
•keeping abreast of new equipment, methods and developments in an engineering specialty.
Additionally, you must be skilled at presenting verbal and written results of engineering projects. Exposure to scheduling tools (Primavera, MS Project), economic budgeting tools (SAP, Navigant model), geospacial information systems (GIS) and/or work management systems (WMIS) is preferred but not required. Must possess the flexibility to occasionally work extended hours (including holidays and weekends) with little or no notice, on-call and during storms and system emergencies.
