Job Posting - corporate facilities ManagerTrader Publishing Company, the photo guide/classified publication industry leader in the US (www.traderonline.com) has an immediate opening for a Facilities Manager in our Norfolk, Virginia corporate office. This manager’s primary responsibility is to supervise, plan and coordinate operational activities in the corporate office and other facilities. This will include maintenance, as well as overseeing new construction and installation. This manager establishes and enforces quality control standards. The Facilities Manager hires, manages and develops employees, and plans with staff for routine, unexpected and emergency maintenance. In addition to employees, this manager will oversee outside contractors and vendors, for maintenance and services related to infrastructure.Major Areas of Responsibility Develop and administer budgets; forecast staffing needs, equipment, materials and supplies; direct the monitoring of and approve expenditures; recommend adjustments or improvements as necessary. Participate in planning, design and management of telecommunications facilities and infrastructure, to include cabling and other distributed systems. Supervise major remodeling, refurbishing and maintenance projects at the corporate office; coordinate contractors on all physical plant design, acquisition and installation. Monitor project finances and analyze estimated to actual costs. Facilitate relocation of building equipment, office equipment and supplies; modular and standard furniture design, acquisition and installation. Identify opportunities to improve service delivery methods and procedures. Develop and maintain safety, emergency/disaster preparedness, and recovery plans. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Requirements Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience directly related to the responsibilities specified, or combination of education and experience with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience. Positive attitude toward providing excellent service and support to customers, co-workers and field support personnel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community. Ability to consistently meet established production and project deadlines. Ability to safely operate equipment used to maintain and repair physical plant. Ability to manage assigned staff, including organizing and scheduling work assignments. Experience commissioning new equipment Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Knowledge of emergency and disaster recovery planning. Knowledge of basic electronics, alarm, security, and data communications concepts. Knowledge of telecommunication facilities and infrastructure planning, design, and implementation. Experience with telecommunications project and construction management principles and practices. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Proficiency in the use of VISIO, CAD, Microsoft Access and Project is preferred. Ability to understand, administer and enforce safety & OSHA rules and regulations.
