Vice President/Principal, Private Client Department

Position summary: The Private Client Department Senior Sales Supervisor has the day-to-day responsibility of overseeing all activities within the Private Client Department. Given the scope of oversight, one must remain proactive in the process and be willing and capable of approaching the representatives and support staff to identify issues; resolve problems and assist in the on-going training required by changing regulations. Ongoing training and regular meetings with the various PCD Offices is critical to keep open communications with the department activities.





Position responsibilities:

Compliance – ensure actions of sales force remain in compliance with firm and regulatory requirements. Conduct active account reviews and book reviews of sales force (discretionary reviews).
Legal – work on sales plans, country issues, and be involved with product development (supervision aspect).
Regulatory – inquiries and responses.
Brokerage Processing – Trade oversight, back up Trade Liason’s on the Trading desk.
Inquiries–client issues – IRA questions, distributions, trust, custodial issues.
Oversight of Operational issues – escalate issues to our Clear Firm and Director of Operations.
Wires/Checks/Journals - 3rd Party – Series 8 or 9/10 signatures
New Accounts Approval/Review – Series 8 or 9/10 signatures
Training Oversight – coordinate with Office manager and/or HR on systems/compliance trading.
Procedures/Documentation – develop manuals to support and streamline processes.
Correspondence – review faxes, emails and outgoing/incoming mail
Sales Literature Review and Approval – review pitchbooks, marketing material – help develop Supervision of Sales and Sales Support
Coordinate supervision over the following departments within PCD:
Asset Management Consulting (AMC)
Venture Services/Corporate Services
Fixed Income/Corporate Cash
REQUIREMENTS
Essential skills and experience:

At least two or more years of experience with Sales Supervision within a private client group or Compliance of a retail brokerage firm.
A strong operational background and understanding of the brokerage business to be able to oversee operational issues that arise between sales and operations.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad audience including reps, legal, operations, compliance, customers and vendors.
Has an understanding of the sales process to help foster growth of business and revenue within the department.
Registration requirements: Series 7, 8 or 9/10, 63, 65. Optional: Series 4, 24, 51, or 53. CA Life Insurance License.
