Vice President, Portfolio Management
Business Unit: GE Commercial Finance, Capital SolutionsFunction: Risk ManagementResponsibilities: This role is responsible for building and leading a team which will execute on the monitoring of our portfolio via regular loan reviews, credit evaluation and collateral management
Establish and then manage a new team within GEFF Risk Management that will be responsible for all aspects of Portfolio Management.
Monitor customer compliance with loan covenants. Optimize the collection of customer financial statements or other documents required per loan agreements
Perform a loan review on selected accounts on an annual or quarterly basis, and Identify early-on potential watch-list accounts that are handled by Special Servicing
Develop strong relationships on key accounts and identify opportunities for additional financing or re-financing. Develop new methodologies to reduce loan pre-payments
Handle all borrower requests related to loan modifications: collateral release or substitution, assignments or assumptions, etc
Develop core processes and procedures in support of these activities. Establish success metrics and drive programs to achieve improvements from current performance
Handle within the assigned delegation all credit decisions that relate to loan modifications. Establish credit analysis procedures that are commensurate with the scope and risk of various loan modifications. The analysis will at times cover all key risk aspects: customer review, financial analysis, collateral evaluation, concept and industry analysis
Oversee or participate where necessary in negotiations regarding final terms and documentation for loan modifications. Work with the Closing Associates, Account Executives, and Outside Counsel to ensure proper documentation and ultimate closing of the transaction
Participate from time to time in customer or concept visits. Develop an in-depth understanding of the industry and specific franchise concepts
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Law degree, plus minimum 5 years experience in a commercial finance or banking environment, including preparing financial information, interpreting financial performance, assessing risk exposure, and recommending risk decision
Minimum 2 years experience managing a team in a financial services business, plus demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Strong technical skills, especially in financial analysis and monitoring; plus demonstrated competency in deal documentation and review
Demonstrated ability to set the vision for change, win support of stakeholders, and execute on change agenda
Proven problem solving and analytical abilities
High energy, detail oriented team player, with excellent organizational and verbal and written
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, with emphasis on Excel utilization.Desired: * MBA
Minimum 2 years experience in commercial finance underwriting or work-out
