Primary Job Responsibilities and Functions
• To work with management in developing programs and relationships that make the Company a sought after, rewarding place to work in all areas • To clearly define to all company management and partners the support offered by Human Resources and define areas for which production management is responsible • Define and set in place processes for management and partnerships to be in compliance with all labor laws in California. Define responsibility and accountability for compliance. • Be available for management consultation. Human Resource consultation in all areas. • To direct the Human Resources group to be effective consultants • To lead the Human Resources group as a business unit reflecting on value for dollars spent and recognizing B/E costs of our products and Human Resources per unit costs • Options in budget process • Budget approval and meeting budget • Administration and benefit value of our health insurance programs • Benefit options, review annually with sufficient information to committee to allow for dynamic interaction and direction • Workers comp x-mod in conjunction with management and partners • Lead annual compensation review with committee • Hiring process and resources • Firing - Values - & Legal • Assessment of partnership HR needs • Assessment and implementation of employee training • Accountable for meeting the goals, objectives, and timeliness in the strategic plan • Conduct HR planning • Provide support to district management and other management staff in the areas of organizational/performance management, staff development • Facilitate performance review process and compensation review • Facilitate Succession Planning process • Document company policies and HR procedures • Consult legal counsel to resolve issues, prevent litigation and liability and ensure that policies comply with federal and state laws • Represent the company in legal proceedings and hearings • Be current on workers' compensations industry issues • Provide support to Mexico, Baja, Florida on demand • Community involvement - Ag Group, El Concilio and Ventura County Community Foundation • H2A and housing issues • Live the company values and promote them!
REQUIREMENTS
Must have a BS degree (MBA preferred) and at least 8 years of upper-level management including multi-site experience. Ideal candidates will have the ability to establish credibility with diverse groups ranging from associates and managers in the field to corporate management, and will be able to serve as a strategic partner to management. Travel is required between CA, FL, and Latin America.
