VP Global Application Development And Delivery – (Information Technology)The VP of Global Application Development and Delivery will report to the CIO of a $1 billion plus global high tech manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay /Silicon Valley area.The VP will manage multiple application development activities encompassing analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, monitoring and support of new and/or existing systems or technology platforms and have overall budget responsibility for technology initiatives. Manage a budget and/or staff equivalent to $20-25 million or more, which crosses multiple businesses and manage a technologically diverse staff of 75 to 150+ including employees, consultants and/or fixed price staff.
Related responsibilities typically include the following:
· Oversee systems design, development, and application maintenance across multiple platforms (ERP, Java. .Net and others).· Manage QA and QC environments for all aspects of application testing. (Excluding performance and stress testing)· Partner directly with key business leaders in multiple functions and provides strategic system solutions to business initiatives.
· Consult with multiple functions and area management regarding technical alternatives or enhancements that are consistent with business strategy or industry practice and architecture guidelines.
· Interact with systems users (i.e., business, operations, customers and other members of the systems community) in carrying out responsibilities.· Manage systems development teams and is responsible for technical oversight and resource management.
· Strategic and pre-production support for corporate and business area systems, distributed processing, client server, internet/intranet and Web site applications.· Provide overall guidance and direction to IT managers.· Select and manage strategic vendors and outsourcing partners.
· Direct and monitor technology investments, platform integration, systems architecture, and software integration.
· Direct responsibility for management of group performance evaluations, promotional approvals, and compensation recommendations.
· Perform related duties as assigned or requested.
REQUIREMENTS
TYPICAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:· A related Masters or Bachelor’s degree with appropriate work experience.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience:· 15+ years application development, including; 10 years experience in managing projects and staff, in-house development teams, outsourced relationships and vendor supported applications.· Demonstrated process development and process execution experience.· Knowledge and experience in managing the use of QA tools and test applications.· Global experience leading off-shore development teams.· Knowledge of systems development life cycle and application program development alternatives· Leadership, team building and coaching skills· Communication and interpersonal skills· Relationship, project, and people management skills· Analytical and technical skills
