Regional Vice President

The Hospital Council of Northern and Central California is a nonprofit hospital and health system trade association representing 189 hospitals in 50 of California's 58 Counties - from Kern County to the Oregon border. Our membership ranges from small, rural hospitals to large, urban medical centers and represents more than 38,000 licensed beds. The Hospital Council is affiliated with and has joint membership with the California Hospital Association (CHA).

We currently have an opening for an experienced professional to serve as the regional representative for the South Bay area, including San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey Counties. Responsibilities include serving as the association's executive/leader for assigned geographic sections; being responsible for delivering and communicating membership value to those members; accomplishing local advocacy outcomes on behalf of member hospitals; conducting local public affairs, advocacy, and grassroots activities in support of the California Hospital Association (CHA); performing issue leadership duties for assigned local public policy priorities and issues; and acting as the media and community spokesperson for the association in assigned sections. Additionally, this position is the primary liaison for membership issues on behalf of CHA and the Hospital Council and is responsible for meeting dues payment targets and achieving fundraising goals for the California Hospital Association Political Action Committee (CHPAC).
REQUIREMENTS
Requires BS/BA in government, business, healthcare, or related field (graduate degree preferred); five plus years of management-level experience in a hospital or healthcare organization; knowledge of government relations and public administration; ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; excellent customer service, communication, presentation and public speaking skills; ability to travel to member hospitals; and a valid CA driver’s license.
