Program Administrator
The position serves as Program Administrator to the Employment Administration and as such reports to the Assistant Director for the Department's Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS). Major areas of responsibility include planning, organizing and directing the day-to-day activities of multiple employment and training programs, which include Employment Security, Unemployment Insurance, Jobs (TANF) Program and the Workforce Investment Act. These activities include: planning, organizing and coordinating program goals, objectives and strategies governing the statewide operation of the administration; budget preparation; interpreting, implementing, and enforcing complex state and federal policy, laws and regulations and ensuring smooth integration of regulatory requirements into programs; and handling all personnel related activities. This position directs the Administration's 1,000 employees along with the annual federal/state budget of approximately $500 million. This position also represents the Assistant Director at operations-related meetings.Position is open until filled. REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess four (4) years senior level management experience with two (2) years of experience in program and budget development. Broad knowledge in employment and training policies and trends influencing employment, federal, state and local laws, regulations, policies and procedures.Expertise should include ability to effectively manage staff and systems of a large and complex organization. Proficient in working with diverse groups of stakeholders (i.e., community advocates, various federal and state government entities, etc.) Excellent oral and written communication skills required.*Position is not covered by the Arizona State Merit System.
