Essential Function - Membership Development and Retention
Develop and implement membership programs, activities, and events to maximize the addition of new members and retain existing members. Meet with existing/prospective members, as needed, and review benefits of renewing/joining.Provide superior service levels to ensure high retention of member businesses while recruiting new members.Develop appropriate material, literature, and letters to communicate direct and in-direct membership benefits. Coordinate an ongoing outreach program of membership information, education, and communicate the initiatives and offerings to members through meetings, new releases, member communication, fax broadcasts, email, telephone, etc.Maintain membership database system utilized by all divisions for sales, retention, communication, in-depth analysis of membership growth and trends by membership category, size and geographic area.Develop and implement educational opportunities for members with the ultimate goal of increasing the perceived value of membership, thereby assisting with retention.Responsible for membership committee and ambassador programSchedule and attend all ribbon cuttings, grand openings, and other special events as directed and serve as a liaison with hosts, arranging for pre-event marketing, staffing at event, door prizes, etc. and the overall coordination of the eventAttend functions as deemed appropriate to accomplish committee and Board objectives (monthly Business Before/After Hours, Annual Banquet, Board meetings, Luncheons, committee meetings, networking receptions, etc.)Will assist and advise in continually assessing and evaluating the success of programs and projects.Review monthly membership billing/invoices/statements prior to mailing.Proof data for membership section of directory and membership guide. Update as needed both in print (directory, addendum listing, etc.) and online (website, etc.).Responsible for securing and maintaining member participation in the chamber’s prestigious Chamber Champions Sponsorship Program.Will work with other Chamber staff as a team player. Assist chamber staff with programs, projects, events, etc. or with other related duties as availability permits.Will be familiar with, and abide by, the policies and procedures as set forth by the Board of Directors and executive staff of the Prattville Area Chamber of CommercePossess tact, poise, and self-confidence and consistently demonstrate these traits in a professional manner to present a positive, business-like image in dealing with business representatives, members, and the general public.Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the President and/or Executive Vice President.Qualifications/Skills:
Exceptional interpersonal/human relations skills
Knowledge of the programs and membership benefits associated with all areas of the chamber,community, and business community
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Exceptional customer service abilities/personable
Computer and database skills
Effective organizational abilities, ability to work within and meet deadlines, in a fast pacedenvironment, manage multiple projects, and possess administrative skills
High school degree required
Sales experience and post-secondary education a plus
Some travel required; daily local travel required
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of any information encountered
Maintain professional appearance at all times
