Join the dynamic and fast-paced MarComm department that supports a broad range of needs in marketing one of today’s fast-growing financial sectors – retirement savings & income products. This Creative Director/Assistant Vice President position is “in charge” creatively with a staff of Art Directors & designers/production artists, and a full suite of Mac-based design tools and hardware. With three different major product lines, a multi-media approach to marketing, three different audiences to serve (wholesalers, brokers and end-consumers), and two sales forces to accommodate, there’s variety and challenge every day in this position.
Overview:
As Creative Director, set the overall direction and tone of AIG Sun America’s variable annuity marketing and sales print materials, ensuring its graphic design integrity and quality.
Serve as a senior-level graphic designer, creating original artwork, design and layout for our marketing collateral and campaigns
Provide creative direction, oversight and management for staff of four graphic designers/production artists and their creative work.
Must be "hands-on" and carry a project through final art production and release-to-print as needed.
Work with outside design firms as necessary to create the best final product.
Work with the Print Production department to ensure color formula consistency and establish color palettes for families of literature, to ensure consistency in the final printed pieces.
Oversee and budget for the creative area's Apple MacIntosh computer technology and software needs; liaison with AIG Sun America IT and Information Security.
Working with the Director in MarComm, is responsible for process within the graphic design area ensuring that designers/production artists are following sound procedures for project completion, integrity of files, backups, storage, etc.
Primary Responsibilities/Requirements:
Marketing collateral in support of our variable annuities, client kits, broker brochures, broker direct mailers, client direct mailers and prospecting materials, artwork for emails and web graphics, meeting signage and support materials, themed campaigns.
The candidate must be able to provide both high-level creative thinking and the translation of that into finished, release-to-print or electronic media pieces.
Nimble with Mac-Based Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark and InDesign. Macromedia Director also helpful, PowerPoint a plus.
Mentor and be creative director/guide to two Art Directors and two graphic designers/production artists.
10 years plus experience with the maturity to manage people and conduct him/herself in a corporate environment.
Willing to work within a corporate environment (e.g., no earrings at work for men or jeans. Tattoos must be covered by clothing; giving up freelance work to focus on the full-time job).
