Chief Technology Officer

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer. The CTO will work closely with the company’s CEO to assess business initiatives that leverage technology as well as approving and managing IT products and services. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in IT Management along with experience in IT infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will also have proven knowledge of business practices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Chief Technology Officer will be the relationship leader and technology partner. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CTO will work closely with other senior managers to develop and execute business plans, obtain consensus around technology requirements, making certain that the business case behind any proposed technology project is sound. The CTO will define and execute projects Plans and will maintain expected service levels for all systems. The CTO will work with senior management to establish a technology vision for the corporation and its subsidiaries that includes technical architecture, applications architecture and organizational infrastructure. He/She will play a key role in planning and developing new systems and enhancements to existing systems to meet business needs. Projects must be managed responsibly, including accurate resource estimates and detailed project plans, tracking progress and communicating status in a timely manner. The CTO will build an effective technology team and deliver quality products and services within time and budget estimates while maximizing return. A key focus for the successful candidate will be to ensure that the corporation’s various web products deliver the highest possible quality of service and functionality. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will manage a team of approximately fifteen developers and networking personnel. Support for the successful candidate will be provided by three shared services teams that serve the organization. REQUIREMENTS


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the IT field, at least 5 in leadership roles of increasing responsibility including budget management and team development. • At least 5 years of experience with e-business development and business operations. • Experience in data and content intensive environments with expertise in content management, publishing technology products, and service oriented architecture. • Strategic leader with strong vision, good operational skills, and a strong results orientation and focus. • Must be able to work in a global, multi-cultural environment, including off-shore.
