Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the general ledger including journal entries, accounts payable and payroll review, reconciliations and month-end reporting. This position reports directly to the Controller. Pays $70,000 - $85,000 DOE.


Responsibilities
•Supervise and mentor an accounting staff of 3 (A/P, Staff Accountant, Payroll);
•Responsible for the monthly close process (reconciliations, allocations, journal entries, subledger reconciliations to the G/L);
•Prepare month end reporting package;
•Register reseller certificates and file sales & use tax returns for various states;
•Make recommendations for improving organization’s accounting operations;
•Document and implement internal control policies & procedures;
•Maintain capital lease schedules;
•Maintain fixed assets module;
•Record equity transactions;
•Engage in special projects, as needed;
•Assist the A/P specialist in maintaining vendors, coding and resolving issues;
•Assist with assembling information for tax filing;
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications

•At least 4 years hands-on experience as a Sr. Accountant;
•At least 2 years management/supervisor experience;
•Bachelors degree in Business or Accounting required;
•Strong understanding of GAAP;
•Experience preparing for audits;
•Public accounting experience and a CPA desirable, but not required;
•Proficiency with Excel;
•Ability to master Accounting Systems (MAS 500 and FRX);
•Excellent written and oral communication skills;
•Experience in a software company a plus
