Education: Bachelors' Degree from accredited college in related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.Experience: 5 years professional experience or 3 years professional experience with related Masters' Degree.Knowledge: Sun Solaris 7-10; Windows 2000/XP/2003 Required; Theater Battle management Core Systems (TBMCS), order DoD C4ISR systems Configuration Management & SSAA Experience Desired.Specific Job Description: Performs analytical activities related to definition, development, implementation, maintenance & support of Unix and/or Windows Operating Systems & client-server supported applications. Interfaces with users to handle tasks of relatively complex nature, i.e. researching modifications to existing programs. Possesses technical competence in fundamentals of troubleshooting Unix & Windows. People skills needed to successfully support growing needs of research team/on-site government client. Defines requirements for system integration & determines cost/risk. General Description: Technical administration for research & development test bed (laboratory) used for conducting team-level performance measurement, after-action reporting & future technology assessments. Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination w/network administer. Duties may include setting up administrator & service accounts, maintaining systems documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide s/w & allocate mass storage space. Interacts w/users. Evils vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase h/w & s/w, coordinates installation & provides backup recovery.
