Job Description: Primary responsibilities of the Senior Systems Support Engineer include trouble-shooting, problem resolution, on-call support, business analysis and report writing supporting the courier disptaching systems.Technical Skills:ACTIVE DIRECTORY ADMINISTRATIONVBScript, Javascript, HTML, SQL (Any ANSI SQL fine), XML, COM / COM+Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 administration understandingIn depth understanding of the TCP protocol (TCP, UDP)Desirable skills/experience:
Linux, Unix, MQ Series
TCP Services: FTP, HTTP, SMTP, POP3, DNS Analysis and Diagnostics, DHCPWindows Services: WINS, Microsoft ExhangeWMI (Windows Instrumentation Interface) experienceUNIX and DOS Shell experienceVPN & IPSEC experienceExtensive hardware experience with PC's and laptops
Basic requirements:
Requires BS/BA in related discipline and 5-8 years of experience in related field and/or equivalent. This individual must possess hands-on 5+ years of 3rd level technical support experience in a large enterprise environment. Must have experience supporting clustering and failover environments. Must possess advanced technical knowledge in the areas listed above in order to research issues and provide solutions/recommendations without much guidance. Experience managing a large Windows server environment is desirable.
