Sr Engineering Manager - (LinkTO24812)

L-3 Communications Link Simulation and Training is a recognized leader in aircraft simulation and operational training applications. The Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) simulation is a shared training environment comprised of live, virtual, and constructive weapons systems allowing warfighters to affordably and realistically train individually or collectively at all levels of war. Link supports the development, evaluation, and enhancement of technologies and training system methodologies for realistic mission training and joint forces training.

This position will be responsible for providing project management, engineering expertise, strategic planning and scheduling, proposal preparation and problem resolution on a variety of training research and DMO simulation training support projects. Additional responsibilities include providing leadership in developing overall program plans including budgets, resource requirements and schedules, and monitoring program status, technical performance, expenditures, manpower allocations, and subcontract compliance. The candidate must coordinate all resource (personnel, equipment and facilities) requirements and resolve resource conflicts to achieve cost and schedule targets.

Required Skills and Education:
Technical Bachelor degree and at least 10 yrs experience in aerospace industry. The preferred candidate will have experience in the development of simulation and training devices in a DMO environment. Military flying background highly desirable, preferably in fighter aircraft. The qualified candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and report on progress. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as strong organizational skills and a focused customer satisfaction orientation. Must be able to work in a high-energy environment and exhibit flexibility and adaptability in light of changing program priorities and customer needs. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate problem solving skills, risk mitigation planning and presentation skills.

Desired Skills:
Master of Science preferred. The ideal candidate would also provide F-16 Subject Matter Expertise on pilot performance in a DMO environment. DOD program management experience in aerospace industry preferred. The ability to seek out new technologies, identify applications in training simulation software and apply them to company products highly desirable. IR&D experience a plus.
