Senior Mine Planning Engineer

ASARCO Incorporated, one of the world’s leading integrated producers of copper and other metals, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Mine Planning Engineer at it’s Mission Complex. This mine is located in Sahuarita, Arizona approximately 18 miles outside of Tucson.

Position Responsibilities:
Develop and evaluate short-range mine plans, waste dump design/sequencing, production tracking, and ore reserve calculations
Support drill and blast activities. Publish, file and distribute shot maps; establish ore zones and shot lines in the field
Perform mine progress activities, developing accurate progress maps
Update engineering database and distribute production reports
Provide support for mine operations projects and geologic mapping, and perform other field projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS
Position Requirements:
B. S. degree in Mining Engineering
5-7 years professional experience with engineering and/or open pit operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS) applications, AutoCad, Trimble GPS, and mine planning software required
