Purchasing Materials Manager

FEE PAID BY COMPANY AND RELOCATION ASSISTANCE! Our client is a composites (similar to boat producers) manufacturer of generator housings for the wind energy business. This distinguished international composites company, is seeking a Purchasing/Materials Manager for their Opp, AL facility. Prequalifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, 5 or more years' managerial experience, technical knowledge of the fiber glass industry. Knowledge of purchasing, scheduling, and inventory control. Demonstrated abilities in effective computer skills (such as Microsoft Office products), oral and written communication as well as organizational and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities:
* Knowledge of Business Plan Goals and Objectives
* Awareness and understanding of their roles and responsibilities within all applicable environmental & safety plans, policies, and procedures.
* Ensure all team mates under their supervision adhere to all applicable environmental & safety plans, policies, and procedures.
* Utilize the Basic Principles to deal with teammates, supervisors, and managers.
* Awareness and understanding of all applicable Quality System Procedures and Instructions.
* Manage the productivity and continuously develop the skills of the Inventory Controller, Stock Room Clerk and Purchasing Assistant
* Ability to negotiate and obtain quality, cost effective raw materials, manufacturing supplies and services that meet or exceed manufacturing requirements.
* Manage and develop our purchasing system and supplier base to meet or exceed our goals and objectives.
* Manage and develop our scheduling and inventory control systems to meet or exceed our goals and objectives.
* Other duties as assigned.
