Project Engineer

MAIN FUNCTION:

Provide technical support for the plant and its capital projects – design, installation, start-up, and evaluation
Collect, evaluate, and troubleshoot plant-operating equipment
Provide technical engineering for on-site installation and implementation of projects
Responsible for start-up, troubleshooting and evaluation of new processes built by capital or in-plant projects
Supervise maintenance hourly employees and contractors
Responsible for instructing department personnel in safe work practices and basic safety principles

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the safe utilization of all department resources to ensure reliable service to customers
Assist in resolution of safety tour findings submitted in work order system and support all plant safety requirements
Assist in assurance of compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies
Assist in the planning and management of the department’s expense and capital budgets to improve plant reliability, improve quality and increase productivity
Support all maintenance functions to maintain reliable plant operations
Assist in planning, directing, controlling and managing the Maintenance Department
Assist in optimization of safety, quality, efficiency and costs
Assist in the proper management of all equipment and personnel assigned to Maintenance Department
Assist in the development of departmental strategic planning to fit plant strategies and objectives

REQUIREMENTS
CHARACTERISTICS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline required
3 years of previous, relevant work experience
Proficient with PC and PC network applications. Effective communicator, both oral and written
Strong understanding of project management
Working knowledge in safety management
