Mill Superintendent

Our client, a junior international gold mining, development, exploration and finance company, is looking for a Mill Superintendent for their Alaska based operation. Bringing a traditional business plan to the family of small to medium sized production companies the project is operated as a fly-in/fly-out facility.

RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY:
The Mill Superintendent is responsible for restarting and upgrading the current milling facility. Initial focus will be on:

?Assessing the status of the processing facility in the context of the ore types and mine plan.
?Making changes necessary to achieve the optimum commercial results.

The Mill Superintendent will work closely with the Mine Manager to develop a simple and practical flow sheet. In addition, the successful candidate will investigate methods to optimize all aspects of revenue related to processing including balancing recovery free gold by gravity methods versus sale as a sulfide concentrate. This individual will also investigate various options to process oxide or sulfide ores.
REQUIREMENTS
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

?A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible processing and management experience in the mining industry, preferably in smaller underground gold mining operations. Experience with gravity concentration and flotation facility including solving operational problems or undertaking optimization or expansion projects.

?Strong mechanical and maintenance focus

?Solid equipment knowledge and experience as well as applicable experience in small mines in remote settings.

?Experience with engineering contractors, flow design and mill commissioning procedures

?Demonstrated supervisory capabilities and familiarity with the development of training programs and employee safety programs

?A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field. Practical experience can substitute for a formal degree.
