Mechanical Engineer

Burns & McDonnell has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy team in Pheonix, Arizona.

This position is responsible for performing design on various projects, preparing estimate proposals with progressive design and project management responsibilities. Providing leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members and meeting and interacting with clients. Some marketing responsibilities. Experience in cost estimating, economic studies, designing and constructing power plants preferred as well as experience with cost estimates, performance estimates, heat balances, gate cycle, GTPro, GTMaster, thermoflow, and project definition. Experience designing coal or combined cycle power plants (coal preferred), including systems design, preparing and evaluating equipment contracts preferred. Power Plant Design experience required.

REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from accredited program plus 7 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. PE. Consulting experience preferred.
