Applies technical knowledge of hydraulics power generation, actuation and controls systems to develop system and component designs/specifications. Evaluates designs and perform trade studies for system configuration, performance, cost effectiveness, safety and regulatory compliance. Directs testing for component and system level development and qualification. Applies engineering and scientific principles as needed throughout the product life cycle. Integrates and coordinates design solutions from suppliers and/or subcontractors. Competencies Experience in mechanical system design preferred with an emphasis on hydraulic systems and actuation. Experience in flight control actuation systems preferred. Demonstrating ingenuity and innovation in the pursuit of the design solution is required. AH64D and/or other airborne hydraulics experience desirable. Will be required to work in a team environment (Integrated Product Team) with other members of project or program team including a full range of disciplines to meet team and organizational goals.
