Controls Engineer
(FLSA - Exempt)
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Perform design, installation and support for varying types of control systems.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1.Complete review of system requirements and complete cost estimate.
2.Complete functional description, engineering documents, specifications and bills of materials.
3.Order, receive and prepare materials for manufacture.
4.Construct or oversee construction of electrical/mechanical components of system.
5.Plan and write software for microprocessor based components.
6.Research, recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
7.Verify all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, specifications.
8.Plan commissioning, organize shipment of components and complete installation of system.
9.Coordinate with contractor or customer for any outside installation work.
10.Perform introduction, user and maintenance training.
11.Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc., to supervisor.
12.May provide technical support and direction of project material control functions including implementation and operation of maintenance program.
13.Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
14.Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:
Educational and experience requirements include:
4 year electrical or mechanical engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
Working knowledge of PLC/microprocessor equipment and techniques, drawings & specifications, mechanical/electrical construction methods and required standards applicable to discipline.
Computer fluency with standard office programs required including word processing, spreadsheets and project management software.
Familiarity with programming languages such as PLC ladder logic and C+.
Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.
