Controls/Electrical Designer

Purpose: Aerotek Energy is looking for an Electrical Controls Designer with previous experience in a Fossil Generating facility to work in Phoenix, AZ.

Working as a controls/electrical designer on fossil power plant design. Assists in the preparation of plant modification projects. Gathers, organizes and develops engineering data from design documentation for the development of design drawings, bill of materials and other design document, and participates in field investigations.

Must have AutoCAD 2004 or later experience, knowledge of control/electrical standards and codes, understanding on how to read, create and transfer information on the following drawings: Wiring Diagrams, Elementaries, Logic Diagrams and Panel Layouts. This individual will be responsible for working on the instrument side of a P&ID. 3D modeling is a plus.

Summary:
Prepare/assist in the developing of design drawings, design change notices, bill of materials and other documents required for facility/plant modification, equipment and other projects.

Minimum Requirements:
Equivalent to one year engineering or technical design course work and two years experience in engineering, electronic drafting, or design work. Demonstrated knowledge of drafting techniques, or power plant drafting standards.
Ability to read and interpret blue prints/engineering drawings; fundamental electronic design knowledge.

This is a contract position with an undisclosed length, although initially it will be set up for one year.

Pay will be dependant on experience but will be competitive with market rates for the Phoenix area.
