L-3 Communications Titan Group is seeking an Associate GIS Engineer for our Eielson AFB, AK location.Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of work experience using Trimble's GPS and ESRI's GIS solutions in order to support L-3 Titan's geospatial operations in the Pacific Rim.Job Duties:
responsible for geospatial data production including field data collection using both resource/mapping and survey grade GPS.
data collection, processing, maintenance, analysis, map compilation, customer service, training and other tasks as directed to support implementation of an Enterprise GIS capability.
recent experience with Trimble's GPS solutions as well as solid working knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS client solutions, extensions, and the geodatabase model.
knowledge of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure & Environment (SDSFIE) and other metadata content (e.g. FGDC) and accuracy standards is also required.
implementation of GIS and GPS solutions as part of a team supporting various military installation management objectives at Eielson AFB, Alaska.
CADD/GIS data integration into the Eielson Enterprise Geodatabase will be a primary responsibility.
strong communication (written and verbal/presentation) skills and substantial client interaction.Background and Experience:
(a) Minimum required:
B.S. Degree in a Scientific or Technical discipline. Two years of experience with GIS data development and GPS data collection. Experience with operation of ESRI's ArcGIS client solutions (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox) and Trimble's GeoExplorer, ProXR/XRS, 5800 RTK GPS solutions and strong Autodesk 2004/6 skill . Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Strong communication (written, verbal, public speaking) skills. Ability to obtain a US DOD SECRET security clearance.(b) Desired:
M.S. Degree in a Scientific or Technical discipline. Experience with ESRI's ArcGIS server solutions (ArcSDE, ArcIMS) Oracle database operation and administration; Previous Air Force or other military experience. Experience with and knowledge of utility and telecommunications infrastructure. Previous experience with the Air Force GeoBase Program.ABILITY TO OBTAIN A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED.
