Training and Education Team Leader

This position reports to the Leadership and Development Coordinator. The main function of this position is to ensure that Team Member training & education is consistently taking place in the stores through the In Store Educator program. This position ensures our Team Members are receiving information that is pertinent to their jobs and their success at Whole Foods Market. This position will reside out of the Northern California regional office and will travel frequently. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Lead and develop designated In-store educators; 2. Meet regularly with Store Team Leader’s, Coordinator’s, and In-store educators reviewing training materials, processes, and program(s) for effectiveness, and updating when necessary; 3. Organize and coordinate editing of New Member Toolkit, New member Orientation, and Hit the Ground Running; 4. Assist with Leadership development classes; 5. Develop workshops/classes for implementation at regional and store level; 6. Regularly interface with store operators to identify strengths and weaknesses of regional education program; 7. Support all of store/facility operational goals through developing educational rolls; 8. Actively participate in Regional TMS team; 9. Hold quarterly goal-setting conference calls/meetings with In-store educators; 10. Event planning as needed; 11. Work with WFM- University in creating and supporting consistent national training programs; 12. Coordinate Team Building activities for various teams in the region on request; 13. Own and Coordinate the New Member training for all store openings, in conjuction with the new store leadership and In Store Educator for that location; 14. Participate in job dialogue/wage reviews for In-store educators; 15. Forge effective relationships and partnerships with fellow Team Member Services team and other regional support teams 16. Develop metrics for gauging success of training programs; and 17. Participate in the recruitment and interview panels for the in-store educator for all locations in conjunction with the Store Team Leader; 18. Responsible for coaching and mentoring ISEs and other members of store leadership on how to implement new programs and change.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Superior communication skills, both verbal and written. 2. Self-Directed and excellent at managing time. 3. A clear and direct leadership style. 4. An understanding of and commitment to Whole Foods Market’s mission, core values, and quality standards. 5. Ability to speak comfortably with small and large groups, be very organized and have excellent presentation/teaching skills. 6. Proven ability of creative thinking and ideas. 7. Intermediate computer skills including Acrobat and Microsoft Office suite. 8. Solid understanding and knowledge of Food Sanitation, Good organics standards, and food handling requirements a plus. 9. Understanding of grocery store operations. 10. Demonstrated success in leading a team. 11. Impeccable follow-through. 12. Flexible working style. 13. Ability to tailor information to present to various groups and Team Members. 14. Regional travel a must (60% travel required.) 15. Flexibility in schedule to work evenings and weekends as needed.
