Family Support WorkerFamily Support Worker Job Description:FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER OVERVEIW:
Plan, develop and assure implementation of Family and Community Development area services, in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, policies and procedures and Easter Seals Southern California (ESSC) standards of conduct.
FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and implement high quality and developmentally appropriate experiences for families enrolled in the Head Start or Early Head Start programs in accordance with the philosophies and policies of Easter Seals Southern California (ESSC) Child Development Center and best practices in accordance with Early Head Start and the Head Start Performance Standards.
Daily Duties:
Coordinates intake and enrollment process.
Conducts recruitment activities.
Creates a welcoming and warm environment for staff and families.
Serve as a role model for family development, community involvement and parent involvement activities.
In collaboration with Health Coordinator, ensures families receive timely referrals.
Coordinate the development and implementation of Family Partnership Agreements, beginning as soon as appropriate and continuing over the period of enrollment in the program, updating every three months.
Coordinate the provision of Family Plan activities with other organizations, agencies or individuals involved in providing services to the family.
Support the active involvement of parents in screenings, assessments, planning forOversee the completion and maintenance of up-to-date records for each enrolled family.
Complete assigned paperwork, tracking reports and data input in a timely manner.

REQUIREMENTS
Family Support WorkerFamily Support Worker Applicant Requirements:FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in the social services, family development, mental health or similar field preferred.Ability to properly interpret and implement regulations, policies and procedures of Head Start Performance Standard, policies and procedures, the California Department of Education, Funding Terms and Conditions (Title 5), Child Development Division, the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing program regulations (Title 22), and the policies and procedures of Easter Seals Southern California, Inc.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood family services.
Experience working with diverse families of very young children.
Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups. Must relate well to children and their families.
Exercise sound judgment, plan, establish and meet timelines.
Possess up-to-date pediatric (infant/toddler) CPR and first aid certificate.
Pass FBI, Department of Justice and criminal background check.
Present a clear TB test.
Pass a pre-employment physical..
