Shipping Supervisor II

The Valspar Corporation, a growing and global leader in the paint and coatings industry with annual revenues of more than $2.7 billion, has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join us as our Shipping Supervisor II, located in Montebello, CA.
REQUIREMENTS
Provide hands-on support to shipping and receiving personnel to ensure correct and timely shipments and receivables. Track and communicate performance.

Assess current operation and implement processes, systems, approaches to improve efficiency.

Manager Valspar's work force to: accident free workplace, high productivity and build effective highly motivated work teams.

Work with cross functional teams to successfully manage inventory targets.

Responsible for organization of yard and housekeeping.

Ensure employees are complying with practices such as FIFO.

Lead daily truck routing activities to ensure ocmplete deliveries without returns.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.

5-10 years relevent experience.

Experienced with cycle counting.

Experienced with DOT requirements for shipping hazardous materials.

Knowledgeable of inventory management concepts.

Ability to multitask between diverse demands (i.e. problem solving, coaching, coordinating, communcating, etc.).

Strong computer skills.

Spanish / English bilingual a plus.
