ABF's relay dispatch system normally returns 20% of road drivers home after one tour of duty and 90% after no more than two tours of duty. ABF has virtually no sleeper teams.

Stability - ABF has minimal driver turnover that is primarily attributable to retirements.

Wages - mileage rate is approximately .53975/mile depending on contract. (New hires are subject to a two-year wage progression pay schedule).

Sick days - 5 per calendar year.

Holiday pay - 8-14 days depending on contract.

Vacation - up to 6 weeks paid vacation for 30 years of service.

Equipment - Road tractors are air conditioned with power steering and are bought on a 3-year cycle.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications

1. A safe previous driving record.
2. Class A CDL with Hazardous Material and Doubles/Triples Endorsements.
3. Two years verifiable tractor/trailer experience.
4. Must be at least 25 years of age.
5. Ability to meet D.O.T. medical and drug testing requirements.
6. Ability to pass company administered road test.
7. Previous over-the-road experience preferred.
8. Good verbal communication skills to interact with customers and the general public.
9. A good previous work record.
10. Must currently be eligible to work in the United States.

Job Responsibilities

1. Ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle and transport freight in all type of driving conditions and in accordance with DOT regulations.
2. Ability to operate an over-the-road unit with doubles or triples trailers.
3. Ability to inspect equipment and maintain paperwork.
4. Ability to maintain drivers logs accurately and in accordance with DOT regulations.
5. Flexibility with work hours.
6. Adherence to Hazardous Material and DOT regulations and company Safety policies.
7. Ability to hook and unhook trailers and reconfigure tractor-trailer combinations.
