Machine Operator

Purpose:
SUMMARY

At the direction of the Lead Mechanic, operates sheet metal fabrication equipment such as; power shear, punch press, CNC punch press and press brake, spot welding, MIG welding, and powder coating equipment as well as pneumatic hand tools used in the assembly / dismantling newspaper racks and other products as assigned.

DETAIL

Under close supervision of a Lead Mechanic:

Uses basic hand tools to cut total drill holes and assembly parts or components to a finsihed product
Dismantles used news racks and related equipment
Prepares metal parts for painting using hand sanders or sandblasting machine
Loads and unloads parts on paint line
Operates metal fabricating equipment such as punch press, power shear, CNC press brake, CNC punch press, spot welding, MIG welding and powder coating
Set up and operate silk screen machine
Operate forklift to load and unload trucks, stack inventory and other general warehouse duties
Sorts and processes used parts for inventory and reproduction
Prepare orders for shipping
Assemble newspaper racks and other products as assigned
Make deliveries or pick-ups using company truck
Performs related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS

Basic knowledge of pneumatic of hand tools such as drills, rivet applications, sanders and grinders
Ability to perform in a high volume production environment
Valid California Drivers license
Understanding of the manufacturing process
Sheet metal fabrication and assembly preferred
