Director of Product Development

We are seeking an Associate responsible for product development within Ocean Tomo’s Patent Ratings business unit. The position is located in Orange County, CA and will report directly to the Managing Director of OT’s Patent Ratings Business. We are seeking a unique skill set that includes a strong background in multivariate statistics, econometrics and stochastic simulation as well as SQL and Access programming.

Responsibilities:
- Product development and architecture
- Analytic testing of predictive models
- Customer service and interface
- Database integrity checking and report generation
- Provide support for Managing Director
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
- MS or Ph.D. in statistics, econometrics or operations research
- Experience in multivariate techniques such as factor and principal component analysis, qualitative dependent variable models, Monte Carlo methods and simultaneous equation estimation
- Knowledge of sampling theory and ability to assess small sample properties of model parameters
- Bootstrapping and jackknife estimation
- Programming experience in SQL and a high level programming language
- Software product development experience

Preference will be given to those with:
- Data mining experience – including text mining and neural networks
- Bayesian inference and learning models
- Intellectual property experience
- Ratings development (e.g., FICO scores)
