Architectural Drafter

Job Description: * Works from own designs and designs of others
* Complies data, performs design computations, makes quantity take-offs, and assists in preparation of cost estimates
* Drafts interpretation of won design into completed working drawings and applies design fundamentals
* Develops project details, prepares selections and adapts to alternatives
* Maintains working knowledge of the discipline’s codes and studies non-routine code issues.
* Performs production of construction documents
* Performs routine design calculations for the review of the project engineer/architect and prepares basic layouts
* Has occasional customer contact
* Participates in continuing education and training to develop and apply innovative ideas and keep alongside state of the art technology. (i.e. evaluate and learn new software packages)
* Direct the drafting effort within own discipline and coordinate work effort with other disciplines
* Research equipment selection or materials and provide information to project engineer/ architect for specifications
* Process shop drawings
* Travel required, must have a valid driver’s licenseJob Requirements
* Must be proficient in AutoCAD
* Architectural drafting experience
* Valid driver’s license
* Must have drafter experience
* The candidate will be working on big box commercial projects such as Costco and Home Depot etc. Experience in these types of projects would be a plus.
* Physical demands:
* While performing duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, use hands/fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Rarely, but may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl.
* May rarely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
* Training for subsequent physical demands will be given or arranged for on a project-by-project basis for those going to a unique environment. Likewise unique physical demands i.e. the use of respirators, would be identified and handled in full compliance with regulatory requirements

* Drug, background and drivers’ license test. May go temp to direct after 6 months depending on the candidate.
