Team Member Relations Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinates employee-related programs, and participates in resolution of employee relations. Coordination of projects/programs/activities for positive employee relations and good management practices. Essential duties include:
·Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
·Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
·Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
·Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
·Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
·Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relation's issues.
·Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
·Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
·Coordinates employee orientations, employee assistance recreational activities, and other employee-related programs.
·Assists in investigation and resolution of employee grievances and coordinates processes of responding to complaints.
·Working rotating shifts to maintain close employee interaction.
COMPLEXITY:
Ability to create/maintain a positive work environment by fostering mutual trust and respect for employees (team members), being open and accepting of differences (fair treatment) and ensuring good 2-Way communications. Requires excellent analytical, written, and communication skills. Working knowledge of state and national labor and employment law.
JUDGMENT/DECISION MAKING NECESSARY:
Confidential advice and counsel must be consistent with labor and employment law. Ability to consolidate information, conduct detailed evaluations, analyze trends, and prepare presentations of current conditions.
INSIDE/OUTSIDE RELATIONSHIPS:
Interacts daily with hourly and salary team members. Interfaces with TMMNA HR Department and TMM affiliates. Manages relationship with contract personnel.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND GENERAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY:
Bachelor's degree in HR, IR, LR, or related and 3 to 7yrs. human resource experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Prior experience supporting activities related to positive employee relations, developing HR proposals, reports and communications, and project management a plus.
MUST BE WILLING TO WORK 2-WEEK ROTATING SHIFT:
6:00am - 2:45pm
4:45pm - 1:30am
