Systems Analyst

Our client, one of the most respected publicly-traded federal integrators, with deep experience in DoD, DHS, Civilian, and Intelligence agencies, is searching for a strong Systems Analyst to join its team in Fairfax, VA.* You will be sponsored for a DoD secret clearance if you take this position. *You will be part of a highly-regarded Systems Analysis Team working within a DoD agency to help that agency improve its business processes and software systems. When a manager within this agency identifies a new requirement for systems functionality, that manager calls upon the Systems Analysis Team to dig into the details and find the best solution. In this role you will focus on analyzing problems and presenting possible solutions. In particular, you may do the following:- meet with government managers and stakeholders to better understand their requirements
- analyze and model existing business processes
- analyze existing software systems and databases
- create functional requirements for software systems (use cases)
- make recommendations for business process improvements

REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED skills and experience
- US citizenship and the ability to pass a background investigation
- 10+ years of experience acting as an Analyst or playing similar roles in software/systems development efforts
- experience creating use cases and activity diagrams, or other comparable requirements documents and models for business and system requirements
- extremely strong client/consulting skills
- an easygoing, relaxed personality that enjoys an environment with multiple concurrent tasks
- an ability to present recommendations in a persuasive manner, both orally and in writing
- strong enough software/systems skills to be a good analyst of such systems; in particular an understanding of databases, so that you can effectively analyze existing datastores and data warehousesDESIRED skills and experience
- experience working in a DoD/military environment
- existing interim or active DoD Secret clearance
