Senior Associate - Forensic Advisory Services

We are currently seeking a KPMG ForensicSM Senior Associate to join our San Francisco or Mountain View office.KPMG ForensicSM professionals assist organizations in their efforts to achieve the highest level of business integrity through the detection, prevention and investigation of fraud and misconduct. Our Forensic professionals strive to not only help our clients discover the facts underlying concerns about fraud and misconduct, but also assist clients in assessing their vulnerabilities to such activities, and in developing controls and programs to address these risks.
Responsibilities:

Assist the client in detecting and preventing fraud in their business

Assist in understanding the general risk faced by the client in a particular industry and the impact of those risks on an organization

Evaluate internal control structures and data to help identify weaknesses and associated risks

Design the data analysis routines/tools to detect fraud and/or control weaknesses

Use forensic data analysis tools and techniques to help organizations prevent, detect and respond to fraud and misconduct

Assist with providing fraud risk management services including design, implementation and evaluation of forensic data analysis methodologies, tools and techniques as part of an organization’s anti-fraud program

Perform forensic data analysis to identify patterns of suspicious activity, outliers, anomalies and other issues that represent fraud risk to an organization

Basic financial statement analysis, including balance sheet analysis and determining profitability

Work with the client engagement team to summarize, analyze and prepare analysis reports and findings
Job Requirements
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Business, or Information Technology (IT)

CPA, CFE, or similar certification

Three years of experience in forensic accounting, data analysis, investigation matters, or financial audit experience

Understanding of one or more of the following: accounting transactions, data analysis and data mining techniques (SQL, Oracle, SAS, Access, IDEA, or ACL), fraud schemes, investigations, corporate filings, financial statements, or U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Strong analytical skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing work loads

Willing/able to accommodate a moderate to extensive level of travel
