Residential Counselor- Brighton

The Behavioral Studies Program is designed for sexually aggressive adolescent males ages 11-21 with psychiatric needs and emotional difficulties that interfere with adequate functioning at home, school or community and who are not likely to respond to a less-restrictive level of care. These male adolescents require comprehensive, long-term and intensive treatment.


The Residential Counselor will work directly with adolescents to develop skills and techniques that help them establish behavioral self controls, healthy coping strategies and how to appropriately confront socially inappropriate aggressive, impulsive or self-destructive acts. The Counselor will also assist in the implementation of individual treatment plans focusing on vital areas such as attachment, trauma, family systems and biological conditions. In this role you will coordinate appropriate therapeutic activities and related interventions while maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
REQUIREMENTS
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field. Will consider non-degreed candidates with five years equivalent experience in providing direct care services to at-risk youth.
