Project Coordinator

Summary Estimates cost of products anticipated for manufacture. Assists in determining necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates. Using established methods and procedures, assists manufacturing by preparing or altering layout detail drawings of components or units to be produced from data provided by customers. Monitors the status of new orders throughout the manufacturing process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Prepares cost estimates for new and revised products and tooling as a basis for pricing quotations.
Confers with customers on specifications, clarifications and recommendations for changes. Assist in qualifying potential customers, products, and suppliers.
Conducts contract review meetings on more complex customer orders prior to quoting and/or prior to production startup.
Processes new orders by determining and loading bills of material and routings into Profitkey system.
Sources new materials, manufactured parts and other required services or processes.
Prepares and maintains layout drawings or diagrams from data and from specifications submitted by customers. Calculates dimensions and allowances in accordance with established drafting practices and alters drawings to suit engineering changes and D & S processes.
Creates and delivers work order traveler packages to manufacturing based on planned requirements.
Aids the tooling department in fixture and template design.
Monitors the progress of new orders throughout the manufacturing process, provides technical support to manufacturing and communicates with appropriate departments when actual events do not meet planned requirements.
Compares actual costs with estimates and analyzes variations for corrective action.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:

Associate's degree in Manufacturing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years experience in a manufacturing environment involving metal fabrication, machining, welding, painting, and assembly.
Experience or training which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of metals.
Experience or training which demonstrates working knowledge of computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Profitkey, and Autocad.
Experience which demonstrates working knowledge of drawing interpretation; e.g. orthographic projection and tolerancing.
Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate good interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Other Job Requirements:

Ability to work varied hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns.
Regular and consistent attendance.
Travel as required.
